NOTD: Christmassy Half Moon Mani

Christmassy Half Moon Mani

I'm staying with subtle Christmas nails for today, fear not my heart is never too far from tacky, fun and Blinging and they will be coming....

So I pulled out this gold Catrice, which I previously reviewed here,  2 coats and a top coat later I applied ring enforcers to the bottom of each finger, I painted my nails with Rimmel Black Cab and as I painted them one by one, I pulled off the sticker and let all the nails dry before adding a top coat...

I'm only sorry I didn't take more photo's of this mani, but I liked it and I have to say my nails got a lot of compliments, it was such a simple manicure to do and not too OTT :)

Are you a fan of the Half moon mani?

NOTD: Christmas Nails- Purple - Catrice 38 Vino Tinto

Catrice 38  Vino Tinto

The silly season is upon us and aswell as wearing my Christmas jumper everyday and my jingle bell earrings, I have been trying to jazz up my nails also (any excuse says me :) heehee)

So I decided that I would start with smart but simple and Catrice 38-Vino Tinto fitted the bill, its a dark purple/ burgandy kinda colour.

This took 2 coats to be opaque, and a top coat to make it smooth and shiney. I liked this colour on, its work friendly and also classy if you don't want to have crazy glittery nails at your work party. (save it for a night out with the girls)

Catrice 38  Vino Tint

Its looks black in some light and purple in others, I tried to catch the colour with my camera, but it was didn't work out so well!! But you can see what a lovely shade it is all the same.

Catrice have increased their prices this year to €2.79 but they're still good quality and still cheap cheap to buy. I like the brush and the application can be a bit blobby if you don't brush off the excess on the side, but other than that I can't fault Catrice. its still up there as one of my favourite brands

NEON NAILS

Anyone that follows me on twitter will have seen these nails last Thursday night when I posted a photo.
But I decided to take a few more photos and make a post of it :)

I had bought 3 of the Models Own Neon Polish's in Boots (3 for 2) and I couldn't decide which one to try first! First world problems I know, but hey, I'm a first world girl ;)  I was watching Xpose that evening on Tv3 and they were showing off the new Sally Hansen collection (its really cute) and the manicurist done a side manicure of sorts and so I decided that I would try similar to showcase all of my new colours at the same time, genius of me eh....

So here you go.. I'll let the photo's do the talking, just look at the pretty colours.

LEFT HAND

                         RIGHT HAND

As you can see the thumb on my right hand went horribly wrong and so I attempted to cover it up in the photos! I just couldn't get the diagonal correct and it just got messy!

With regards the rest, the lines could have been sharper, but that's my critical opinion. I liked this tho, the colours were lovely and bright and very eye catching.

Easter Nail Art

Happy Easter Everyone.

First off this weekend my blog has hit 5,000 views, Thank you all so much, its a nicer present that n any Easter egg to know that your reading and hopefully enjoying my blog :)

So this week, I was undecided what I wanted to do on my nails for Easter! I knew that I fancied a colour injection, but other than that I wasn't too sure!! So I picked 5 bright colours and started from there. I'm sorry I didn't take a photo of my nails before I started to doodle!!
But here is how my nails turned out. I left both thumbs out of this (incase your wondering)

RIGHT HAND

So I decided that I would do every nail different, I started with the pretty yellow nail, I was thinking a lil cute Easter chick, I was trying to make it look like he was peeking out of an egg shell, not a bad first attempt, but his eyes and nose could be better!!
The bunny on the pink finger I think is cute. The other two nails i decided to try to decorate like Easter Eggs, I used nail art pens. I like the end result especially on the blue nail.

LEFT HAND

As you know I'm dotty for spotty :) and time wasn't on my side unfortunately, so spots over all these pretty colours seemed like a good option to me, and I was happy with the outcome, I didn't spot the drag marks over the spots until I uploaded the photos onto the computer!!
I had left my ring/yellow finger blank with the intentions of attempting another chick on this finger, but sadly I never got around to it!! But hey, Yellow is a nice Eater colour and it looks pretty as it is I think :) (good excuse? lol)

Catrice - 740 King of Greens

I'm still sporting the green. So I'm really having a green week in honour of our patron saint. I'm liking all the different shades of green I must say and I hadn't realised I had so many in my collection, so there's no harm in giving them a day out :)

This green is Catrice - 740 King of Greens, Its a nice dark green with a gold shimmer going through it. its thick in consistency and it went on very well. I put on two coats and then Seche Vite to give it a lovely shine

What shade of green are you sporting??

Catrice – 030 Meet Me at Coral Island

I’m after getting very behind with nail blogging ( I was too busy feeling sorry for myself cuz I was sick) But here are the nails that I was sporting on the 1stMarch, I decided that it was time that Spring Sprung and I was looking for a nice bright colour to cheer me up. And even the name of this “Meet Me at Coral Island” had me thinking of holidays and warmer climates.

The Catrice brush is great for application and although the formula is a little gloopy it went on easy enough. I still done 2 coats to make it opaque and added a top coat for that extra shine J Plus I get tip wear almost immediately, so top coat gives me at least a day!!

CATRICE- 910 OH MY GOLDNESS!

CATRICE-OH MY GOLDNESS!
Hey Guys,
Today my nails are super shiney in a tacky backy way rather than in the blingtastic style that I much prefer.(cuz that’s not tacky!!)
I decided to treat myself to a new polish (cuz there’s no such thing as too many is there) and it was this that caught my eye.
CATRICE- 910 OH MY GOLDNESS! At €2.79 sure twas a bargain J
CATRICE-OH MY GOLDNESS!
CATRICE-OH MY GOLDNESS!
I was in the market was a fab shiney gold for “the Christmas season” its not what I’d hoped for to be honest.
Its goldy/bronzey/ shimmery colour with dark tones going through it. The photos don’t show it to its full affect.
It took two coats to be opaque, the brush was easy to use, the consistency wasn’t too blobby. All good so farJ
CATRICE-OH MY GOLDNESS!

CATRICE-OH MY GOLDNESS!
It dried fairly fast, but dried kinda rough and grainy feeling. But that was no problem as a quick top coat of Seche Vitae made my nails lovely and shiney and smooth.
I don’t think that I’ll be using this as an all over polish this Christmas if I’m being honest. But I’d say it’ll be ok to go into my “to be used for nail art pile” (well it’s a box, but shush)
CATRICE-OH MY GOLDNESS!
I really should take the photos before I go to work, because the tip wear is almost immediate!!!  grrrr
What do you think of this colour? Have you tried it? Is it on your “To Buy List?”
