Back to Slimming World - WEEK 1 - Jan 2016

Happy New Year, I’ve decided to keep a daily diary, which I will post weekly, just for the month of January to get me into a nice routine and update ye on my progress…

I started on  Monday 4th Jan (well I couldn’t start on a Friday could I? heehee),

My first weigh in of the year was on Thursday 7th  but regardless I started and after Thursday it will be all downwards on the scales.

Everything I eat I post daily on my Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat if you want to see what I’m stuffing my face with (because being hungry isn’t an option for me.)

This is a lifestyle change, so these good eating habits I plan on keeping, as I say good bye to my extra pounds and wobbly bits

Here’s how my first few days went…..

Monday 4th Jan 2016 –DAY 1
Feeling positive, motivated and looking forward to eating fruit and veg!!!! This is the typical first day buzz!
I could write all my good intentions here today, but you’ve heard it all before, so we’ll keep moving……
3  litres of Water, 45 minutes on a Spinning bike & ended the day on 5 syns  (see first day over achiever)

Tuesday 5th Jan 2016 – DAY 2
Feeling hungry & cold today but still determined and motivated.
Does taking down the Christmas decorations and cleaning the house count as exercise??
2.5  litres of Water & ended the day on 10.5 syns

Wednesday 6th Jan 2016 – DAY 3
Still feeling the cold, hope I’m not coming down with something!! Also need to get used to my new routine of running to the loo every time the news comes on the radio… counts as exercise though doesn’t it!!
2.5  litres of Water & ended the day on 12syns

Thursday 7th Jan 2016 – DAY 4
Have a slight headache and still cold! (but it is cold, the cars were iced over this morning) Guessing the headache is from the sugar withdrawals… they cant last much longer…
Went to weigh in.. I was up 6.5lbs… expected this after almost a month of eating ALL the food…. So starting fresh with this new number.
Met our new leader and she seems really nice, she gave the whole group the new member talk and it turns out I don’t know everything…. Who knew!!!
Left feeling motivated and ready to start tomorrow like its my first day ever
2.5  litres of Water & ended the day on 17.5 syns

Some motivation:

The Post Christmas/ January Hangover

Hey All,

Sorry I haven’t been around, well I have but not blogging!!

The Christmas Hangover has been hitting me hard this week and I’ve been feeling a big negative so I decided not to vent and rant on here and annoy ye all.
I reckon if I had, someone woulda called round to kick me up the hole and I would have deserved it

So here we go. I was not a good girl over the Christmas.  I was full of good intentions, yes.

However, Good intentions did not stop me from eating everything & anything in sight (even when I wasn’t hungry/ didn’t want it/ like it) and eating at crazy times!!

I would usually shrug this behaviour off and throw in an “Ah sure its Christmas” but I don’t deem this to be a good enough excuse for me anymore!
I’ve been doing the dog and now I’m paying for it 10 folds!!

Truth be told, I’m been on a slippery slope for the last month or so and the last two weeks, just highlighted for me how badly I choose to eat when out of my routine and how qucikly I can gain weight,. Its kinda scary.

I went back to work and my routine on Monday. Threw on my usual black work pants and a  jumper and off I went. By 9.30am I was feeling very uncomfortable, my black pants was TIGHT! I mean scary tight like I’d put on the wrong trousers!!  I had a red ring around my “waist” it was that tight and even walking it was tight around the back of my knee’s. I can honestly say I’d forgotten how awful this feels!!  Iwas paranoid for the whole day and felt like I’d worn tights to work rather than my usually (kinda baggy and comfy) black pants!! An 8 hour Wedgie is never good!!

The Food baby I had acquired over the Christmas holidays was not gonna let me forget about it just because I was back to being good.

1. food baby
word of the day: October 13, 2010
when you eat so much, that your stomach looks pregnant
Jeez! I ate so much, I look like I am having a food baby!

Here are some of the other negative things that I could write about but I think you get where I’m going at this stage and how I’m feeling

·         I feel bigger than I’ve ever felt
·         I’m so uncomfortable all the time
·         I’m a little more paranoid when dressing and trying to hide my extra wobbly bits
·         I feel sluggish and crap
·         My skin and hair are freaking  out with me
·         FOOD BABY! Gross!
·         My belt is on the 2nd loop hole  (It was almost into the 4th loop before the Xmas)

But last Monday I was back to my familiar routine, I had a sugar free day and drank LOADSA water, it was needed after all the over eating!!
I’ve been to 3 classes this week to try and do some  “damage control” before my official Post Christmas Weigh in tomorrow 11th January.

But I think your with me when I say that the result tomorrow won’t be a good one! But it will be a new start for me and DOWN DOWN DOWN from here!! It has to be!!

Just thought I’d keep ye guys updated. I’m back and I’m on a mission to succeed.

This is only a minor set back!! Altho it feels like one big Food Baby at the moment **sigh**

Stay tuned, to find out what I have planned for myself

A Fresh Start!

Hey Guys,

I’m back and it ain’t good or pretty news that I have to report, but after a fellow blogger advised me to rip the plaster off and start again by putting the bad behind me, I decided he was right.

So I hit the scales on Saturday morning, horrendously hung over and faced the music, the damage you ask? Up 4lbs on the scales, now only 1.5lbs of that was fat, so we’re unsure if the booze was still in my system 12 hours later and put the reading off! I’m not looking for a cop out, I deserve to be up, but it is a possibility that the booze in my system fecked up the reading.
So the plaster has been ripped off!

Last week I was doing my exercise and eating the usually but I was also having lotsa ice cream and other lovely things with this fab weather, I was pretending I was on my holidays sitting out my back garden (we have to make the most of it while we can) I was out with work on Friday evening, dinner and a retirement part (free food & drinks meant I was there J)  So instead of having my usual pizza that I have when we go to this particular pub, I opted for parsnip chips and chicken gougons, and dya know, it was yummy and tasty and filling and I didn’t feel as guilty or as bloated as I would have had I eaten a full pizza to myself (which I would have done) Sharing food is something I’ll be working on forever I think, lol.. its just not in me!

So I ate out and choose wisely, I faced the scales and made a decision that I need to get back to giving myself the time and allowing myself to achieve my goal!
I’m 6 months in and I’m at 30% with regards my target, that’s not even at the half way mark yet for me!

So as I mentioned last week, I need a new challenge, a new exercise, a new routine to kickstart my bum back into gear and to get the scales moving in my favour once again.
I know I shouldn’t let the numbers affect me and upset me, but they do!! But that’s another story!!

So my local gym have advertised for a 6 week weight loss course and I’ve signed up. It will include 2 classes a week specifically for the people on the course, weekly food plans, weigh in’s and measurements will be taken on week 1, 3 & 6.
I don’t know anymore than that for the moment, I’ll know more after the meeting tonight, but I’m excited about this and 6 weeks will bring me right up to my week off work and Michael Buble Concert. So getting new clothes for my future husbands concert will be my new short term goal.

I’ll report back during the week when I have more details to share and I’ll also take photos tonight before week one commences.

I hope you’ve been enjoying the sunshine and making the most of it and getting outside.

Below are a few inspirational quotes that I like J all from Mr Google images and facebook

2013 A Fresh Start - Operation SkinnieMinnie

Hey Guys,

As the title says, today is my fresh start to the new year and I'm happy that Christmas is now behind me, I really enjoyed it, but I've also eaten my way through the season and now I've got the jolly belly to prove it!! YIKES!!

I'm not back to face the post Christmas scales until this Saturday, but I've had enough of eating poorly and making the wrong choices!! So I started fresh today. I had a chat on twitter with a few fellow bloggers and they motivated me, it was the kick up the backside that I needed.

So today is my first day sugar free in a good few weeks and already my belly is already thankful :)
I was sick over the weekend, thanks to our lovely weather! Its just a head cold, so leaky nose, headache and sore throat.
Instead of turning into my usual Moaning Myrtle, I used it to my advantage, Oh YEAH :) 3 litres of water and 3 cups of herbal tea, soothed my throat and in the process started my detox of my insides that have been suffocated by rich and bold foods lately.

So I'm off to a good start, I brought pears to work to snack on and avoided the left over sweeties in the kitchen all day.
I'm ever so proud of myself!! I know its silly and only been 13 hours, but I'm an all or nothing kind of dieter and I can say that I've had a totally clean day today *high five for me* Once I get 3 good days in a row, that'll keep me good and the cravings should vamoose.

The weather in Cork today has been rotten, so I've not had any exercise, but that's OK, today was good eating , tomorrow I'll add in exercise. I'm booked in for 40minutes Ab & 20mins tone tomorrow night and if it dries up, I'll  walk at lunch time.

So I'm feeling very positive and motivated today. My goal for this year is to reach my target weight.
I want to loose 60lbs in the coming months.

I took these photos of myself last week before spinning. (Apologies for the quality, they were taken on my phone) I can't look at these without cringing, but this is the what I need to do.
I will post photos of myself monthly and you can tell me can you see a difference as I go back on my weight loss journey to be a slimmer and trimmer me.

Are you planning a healthy change for the new year??
